What is Family Therapy

Family therapy can be for a variety of purposes. It can be to work with extended family, or solely with immediate family, or it can be family members supporting a particular family member. Whether you are close or estranged, the main premise is that it's a family that wants to privately work on their dynamics, establish healthy interactions, and have a forum for open honest communication.

Family therapy helps with conflict resolution, communication, and other relational skills. It focuses on the overall family system - and not just the individual. We’ll work with you in a supportive & comfortable environment to create a sustainable path toward a healthier & happier dynamic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we get to choose my therapist?

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Suspendisse varius enim in eros elementum tristique. Duis cursus, mi quis viverra ornare, eros dolor interdum nulla, ut commodo diam libero vitae erat. Aenean faucibus nibh et justo cursus id rutrum lorem imperdiet. Nunc ut sem vitae risus tristique posuere.

Yes. After signing up, we’ll be in touch via email &/or phone to confirm which therapist your family would like to start sessions with. We have plenty of therapists to choose from based on your families needs, and our therapists are Licensed clinical social workers, Psychologists, Licensed mental health counselors, and Licensed marriage and family therapists, who all have years of experience treating a wide range of challenges.

How often can my family meet with our therapist?

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Suspendisse varius enim in eros elementum tristique. Duis cursus, mi quis viverra ornare, eros dolor interdum nulla, ut commodo diam libero vitae erat. Aenean faucibus nibh et justo cursus id rutrum lorem imperdiet. Nunc ut sem vitae risus tristique posuere.

You’ll meet weekly with your therapist at a recurring time that works with your schedule. Sessions will meet on the same day and at the same time each week. So, you’ll have 4 sessions per month. All our plans are ongoing and operate on a monthly basis, so how long you wish to stay in family therapy is totally up to you and is a deeply personal decision and depends on your individual needs & goals. You can cancel at any time, and you’d just finish out whichever billing period you’re on.

What happens if I need to reschedule a session?

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Suspendisse varius enim in eros elementum tristique. Duis cursus, mi quis viverra ornare, eros dolor interdum nulla, ut commodo diam libero vitae erat. Aenean faucibus nibh et justo cursus id rutrum lorem imperdiet. Nunc ut sem vitae risus tristique posuere.

If for whatever reason from time to time your family needs to reschedule a particular session, you can work with your therapist to reschedule that time slot with advance notice for that specific week – we just ask that you keep rescheduling a session that deviates from the recurring time to a minimum so that you and your therapist can stick to the standard recurring time for consistency and for ease of scheduling. If for whatever reason your family’s schedule changes, and you need to change the general recurring weekly slot, our team and your therapist will help you confirm a new recurring slot that overall works for your family’s calendar.

Nunc ut sem vitae risus tristique posuere.

There is no hard number requirement. But usually, on the low end it consists of 3 family members and there’s no cap on the sizing. We would suggest keeping it up to 12 family members just so you maximize each hour session. But, if you have more extended family that you wish to join, that is absolutely okay too. It’s totally up to you.
